NETWORK TOPOLOGIES:-

A computer network is made of computers which are linked to one another with communication lines (network cables, etc) and hardware elements (network adapters, as arrangement – that is, the spatial configuration of the network – is called the physical topology. The logical topology, as opposed to the physical topology, refers to way that data travels along communication lines. The most common logical topologies are Ethernet, Token Ring and FDDI.

The network topology defines the way in which computers, printers, and other devices are connected, physically and logically. A network topology describes the layout of the wire and devices as well as the paths used by data transmissions.

In a computer network, there are number of ways to join computers to speed up the performance and fault tolerance, which are called as network topologies.
